Hammond 1591XXDSFLBK 152x82x51mm Black Economy Flanged-Lid ABS Box

The 1591XXDSFLBK is the economy flanged-lid version of the 1591XXD enclosure: a black general purpose ABS case (flame rating UL94 HB, not flame retardant) whose lid is fastened with self-tapping screws into fully plastic posts. It gives OEM engineers and hobby or production builders a cost-conscious housing for a horizontally mounted printed circuit board, designed to meet IP54 against dust and splashing water.

Nominal enclosure size is 5.98 in (152 mm) long, 3.23 in (82 mm) wide and 2.01 in (51 mm) deep; the drawing gives overall dimensions of 152.43 mm [6.00 in] x 82.43 mm [3.25 in] x 50.50 mm [1.99 in], with an inside length of 145.40 mm [5.72 in], inside width of 75.40 mm [2.97 in] and inside height of 46.50 mm [1.83 in] over a 2.00 mm [0.08 in] wall. A PC board up to 145.00 mm x 75.00 mm [5.71 in x 2.95 in] fits in the box or in the lid. The integrated lid flange extends the overall length to 176.15 mm [6.93 in].

The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and four #4 x 1/2" self-tapping cover screws in black, with a recommended torque of 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). Replacement lid screws come in packs of 100 as 1591TS100BK (black) or 1591TS100 (nickel plated). Integral PCB standoffs in both the box and lid accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws, which are not supplied (packs 1593ATS50 and 1593ATS100).

Mounting flanges are integrated into the lid, with four molded countersunk holes (4X 5.00 mm thru, 9.00 mm x 82°) for installing the 1591XXDSFLBK on a wall or shelf, and an oval hole in each side of the flange so the unit can be strapped or hung with tie wraps. Internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation. The enclosure is REACH and RoHS compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.26 lbs (0.12 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
