Hammond 1591XXCTBU 121x67x40mm Transparent Blue ABS Project Box

The 1591XXCTBU is the transparent blue version of the 1591XXC multi-purpose enclosure. Unlike the black and gray standard versions, the transparent blue enclosure is molded from general purpose plastic that is not flame retardant (flame rating UL94 HB), which suits projects where a see-through blue housing is wanted around a horizontally mounted printed circuit board. It is designed to meet IP54, protecting against dust and splashing water.

Nominal enclosure size is 4.76 in (121 mm) long, 2.64 in (67 mm) wide and 1.57 in (40 mm) deep; the drawing gives overall dimensions of 121.44 mm [4.78 in] x 66.94 mm [2.64 in] x 40.00 mm [1.57 in], with an inside length of 115.15 mm [4.53 in], inside width of 60.65 mm [2.39 in] and inside height of 36.00 mm [1.42 in] over a 2.00 mm [0.08 in] wall. A PC board up to 114.50 mm x 60.50 mm [4.51 in x 2.38 in] fits in the box or in the lid.

The lid is secured with four M3-0.5 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws (black) threaded into installed brass inserts, a design suited to applications that need repeated assembly and disassembly; recommended torque is 43-50 ozf.in (30-35 cN.m). Replacement screws are sold in packs of 100 as 1591MS100BK (black) or 1591MS100 (nickel plated). Integral PCB standoffs in the box and lid accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws, not supplied (packs 1593ATS50 and 1593ATS100).

Internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation. For wall or shelf mounting, accessory ABS mounting flanges are sold separately (1591FCBK black, 1591FCGY grey). The 1591XXCTBU is REACH and RoHS compliant, ships shrink wrapped with a shipping weight of 0.17 lbs (0.08 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing); STEP and IGES solid models are available.
