The 1591MF2GY is a light gray 1591M-size ABS enclosure supplied with an accessory mounting flange attached to the bottom of the box. It gives OEM designers and installers a shallow, surface-mountable housing for a small printed circuit board standing vertically in the card guides molded into all side walls, which accept 1.5 mm (0.062 in) boards.
It is molded from easy-to-machine flame retardant ABS carrying a UL94 V-0 flammability rating. Lap joint construction between box and lid protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. The lid is held by M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threading into integral brass bushings, which makes repeated opening and reassembly practical; light gray versions ship with nickel finish screws.
Nominal size is 3.34 in x 2.2 in x 1.03 in (85 mm x 56 mm x 26 mm). The drawing gives an inside length of 78.63 mm [3.096 in], inside width of 51.83 mm [2.041 in] and inside height of 20.90 mm [.823 in], with a guide height of 15.90 mm [.626 in] and a slot width of 2.07 mm [.082 in]. The bottom flange extends the overall length to 110.20 mm [4.339 in], with mounting holes on 98.40 mm [3.874 in] centres.
Each 1591MF2GY assembly includes the box, lid, 4 cover screws and pre-installed brass inserts; recommended cover screw torque is 35.5-42.5 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). Shipping weight is 0.14 lbs (0.06 kg), and the part is RoHS and REACH compliant. For horizontal board mounting, 1591Z card adaptors are offered.
