Hammond 1590Z130BK 175x80x52mm Black Textured Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z130BK is a thick-wall, watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1590Z Type 4X/ 6P series, finished in textured black powder paint. A long, slim, low-profile sealed box suited to elongated circuit boards and instrument electronics, it suits OEM engineers, electricians and integrators.

It is 6.89 in (175 mm) long, 3.15 in (80 mm) wide and 2.05 in (52 mm) in total depth, with a shallow 0.47 in (12 mm) lid. Inside dimensions are 165.76 mm [6.53 in] length, 70.76 mm [2.79 in] width and 45.00 mm [1.77 in] depth, with an average wall thickness of 4.00 mm [.16 in]. Shipping weight is 1.24 lbs (0.56 kg).

Construction is two-piece tongue and groove with a replaceable one-piece silicone rubber gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F), that is supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed. The lid is secured by four recessed stainless steel M4 - 0.7 machine screws, with a recommended cover screw torque of 6.6-8.8 lbf.in (75-100 cN.m). The purchased assembly includes the box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 2 ground screws with washers. The lid screws are self-captivating and create threads on first installation, and the design is intended for repetitive opening and closing.

For installation, blind through-holes located outside the gasket protection allow easy wall mounting. This size has no internal mounting shelf and no inner panel is listed for it. Spares are SC576-50 lid screws (50 pack, M4 - 0.7 x 20mm PN), SCGM4-50 copper ground hardware and the 1590Z130G gasket two-pack.

The series is cUL and UL listed (file E65324), independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68 and to NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, and carries an IK08 impact rating per IEC62262. Customers should confirm suitability for their application by their own testing. This black version is powder painted inside and out; the same size is also offered in natural and smooth gray RAL 7001.
