The 1590Y is a square diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 92 x 92 x 42 mm, supplied in natural aluminum without mounting flanges. Its compact, equal-sided footprint suits small circuit boards and instrument modules built by OEM engineers and integrators.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water; this standard version is designed to meet IP54. The unpainted surface is vibra finished for a smooth feel with no sharp edges.
Nominal size is 3.62 in x 3.62 in x 1.65 in (92 mm x 92 mm x 42 mm). The drawing shows 42.00 mm [1.654 in] overall height and an interior of 85.17 x 85.17 mm [3.353 in] with 36.30 mm [1.429 in] inside height. It accepts a P.C. board up to 84.17 x 84.17 mm, helped by side walls drafted at 2° or less.
The 1590Y includes box, lid and four 6-32 UNC cover screws in factory-tapped holes (recommended torque 50-55 cN.m / 71-78 ozf.in). Gasket kit 1590YGASKET upgrades it to IP65, and the factory water-tight version is 1590WY. Flanged-lid (1590YFL) and flanged-bottom (1590YF) versions are also listed. Shipping weight is 0.54 lbs (0.24 kg) in shrink wrap; RoHS and REACH compliant.
