The 1590WYBK is a compact square watertight diecast aluminum enclosure, 92 x 92 x 42 mm (3.62 x 3.62 x 1.65 in), with no mounting flanges. It is sized for compact electronic instrument assemblies that need an enclosure designed to meet IP65 in a small footprint.
The box and lid are die-cast aluminum alloy that is tough yet easy to machine. A lap joint where the lid meets the box guards against dust and splashing water, and a silicone gasket is supplied loose inside for installation on the lid. Low side wall draft angles of 2° or less help PC boards sit squarely. This black version is coated with a textured polyester powder paint that gives a lasting finish, even after machining, and black screws are included to enhance appearance.
Inside, the enclosure provides 85.17 x 85.17 mm [3.353 x 3.353 in] with 36.30 mm [1.429 in] of height, and the listed maximum PC board size is 84.17 x 84.17 mm. The lid is secured by four 6-32 UNC screws in factory-tapped holes; with the gasket fitted, torque them to 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in].
The assembly includes box, lid and four cover screws, ships shrink wrapped, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. For surface mounting, the same size is offered with a flanged bottom plate (1590WYFBK) or flanged lid (1590WYFLBK). The optional replacement gasket kit is 1590YGASKET.
