The 1590WLBBK is a black, watertight diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1590 Series, sized at 1.99 x 1.99 x 1.22 in (51 x 51 x 31 mm). It is a plain box with no mounting flanges, suited to engineers and integrators who need a compact, sealed housing for a small circuit board, sensor interface or control module.
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, a material that is tough yet easy to machine for connectors, switches and cable entries. This version has textured black polyester powder paint, a finish the series literature describes as lasting even after machining, and it ships with black screws to match. A lap joint where the lid meets the box helps keep out dust and splashing water.
Inside, the drawing shows 45.50 x 45.50 mm (1.791 x 1.791 in) with 27.05 mm (1.065 in) of inside height, and the maximum PC board size is listed as 44.7 x 44.7 mm. Side walls have a draft angle of 2° or less for easier board mounting, and the lid height is 0.16 in (4 mm).
As the water-tight version it is designed to meet IP65. The silicone gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed, and the assembly includes the box, lid and four 6-32 UNC cover screws. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m, or 25-30 cN.m with the gasket fitted. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.15 lbs (0.07 kg).
