The 1590NGASKET is a two-gasket silicone kit for 1590N and 1590N1 diecast aluminum enclosures. In the series ordering table it is the optional replacement gasket kit for the 121 x 66 x 40 mm N1 box in natural and black, with no flanges, a flanged lid or a flanged bottom plate, as well as their water-tight versions.
Gaskets are included with water-tight 1590 enclosures, but this kit lets you upgrade a standard IP54 enclosure to IP65 or replace a worn gasket. The two gaskets are pre-formed and have adhesive backing for easy installation, and they are applied to the lid. Because the gasket goes on last, the enclosure can be machined and/or painted first and gasketed later.
The silicone is rated for -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F). IP65 depends on a properly installed gasket and lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in).
For a complete watertight conversion, the series notes recommend ordering watertight screws (stainless steel with O-ring) too. The N1 drawings list these as 1590WMS100 and 1590WMS100BK, 6-32 x 1/2 in with O-ring, in packages of 100. The gasket kit ships in a bag and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
