The 1590LLBGASKET is a 2-pack of silicone gaskets for 1590LLB diecast aluminum enclosures. It is intended for anyone who wants to upgrade a standard IP54 enclosure of this size to IP65 protection, or replace a gasket on an existing build. Gaskets are already included with water-tight 1590 enclosures; this kit is the separate purchase for standard ones.
Each kit includes two pre-formed silicone gaskets with adhesive backing for easy installation. The gasket is applied to the lid, which allows the enclosure to be machined and/or painted first and gasketed later, a practical sequence when you are cutting connector holes or finishing the box before final assembly.
The gasket has a temperature rating of -40°C to 150°C (-40°F to 302°F). The enclosure is designed to meet IP65 with a properly installed gasket and lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in), which is lower than the 50-55 cN.m recommended for a lid without a gasket.
When converting a standard enclosure to a watertight box, the series notes recommend also ordering watertight screws (stainless steel with O-ring). The kit ships in a bag, weighs 0.01 lbs (0.00 kg), and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
