Hammond 1590H 53x38x31mm Natural Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590H is one of the smallest boxes in the 1590 diecast range at 2.07 in x 1.5 in x 1.22 in (53 mm x 38 mm x 31 mm). This unflanged, general purpose aluminum enclosure suits designers and technicians housing a tiny circuit board, sensor, adapter or signal module in a rugged metal case.

The drawing gives outside dimensions of 52.50 x 38.00 x 31.00 mm [2.067 x 1.496 x 1.220 in] and an interior of 48.63 mm [1.914 in] long, 34.13 mm [1.344 in] wide and 27.30 mm [1.075 in] high. Maximum P.C. board size is 47.63 mm x 33.13 mm. The ordering table lists the length as 2.09 in (53 mm).

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The natural version is unpainted and vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54. A side wall draft of 2° or less makes board mounting easier.

The lid fastens with screws threaded into four factory-tapped 6-32 UNC holes. For IP65, the water-tight version is 1590WH, or the 1590HGASKET kit can be fitted with lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in). The 1590H is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.12 lbs (0.05 kg).
