Hammond 1590BBSLG Light Gray 120x94x42mm Diecast Stomp Box Enclosure

The 1590BBSLG is a painted diecast aluminum stomp box enclosure from the 1590-STOMP series, finished in Light Gray and built for stomp box manufacturers and experimenters who want an enclosure that arrives already powder coated. It is the 1590BBS body: the same broad 120 x 94 mm footprint as the 1590BB, but in the tallest 42 mm height listed for that footprint in the 1590-STOMP range, giving the most internal depth of the three 1590BB-footprint heights (34, 38 and 42 mm).

The box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine. The enclosure is factory powder coated with a smooth, glossy polyester powder coat that keeps a lasting finish even after machining, and the smooth surface allows easy adhesion of labels or silk screens. The finish is Light Gray, matched to RAL 7035, a neutral standard RAL shade that pairs well with printed labels and silk-screened graphics.

The series ordering table lists this size at 4.72 in (120 mm) long, 3.70 in (94 mm) wide and 1.65 in (42 mm) high; the part page gives 4.7 in x 3.7 in x 1.66 in (119 mm x 94 mm x 42 mm). The drawing shows 119.50 mm [4.705 in] x 94.00 mm [3.701 in] x 42.10 mm [1.657 in] overall, with an inside length of 113.48 mm [4.468 in], inside width of 87.98 mm [3.464 in] and inside height of 37.85 mm [1.490 in]. Maximum P.C. board size is listed as 85.98 mm x 111.48 mm, and a low side wall draft angle of 2° or less makes PC board mounting easier.

Each purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws (6-32 UNC). Lap joint construction protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. To reach IP65, add the optional 1590BBGASKET gasket together with water-tight screws. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with a gasket.
