Hammond 1590APR Purple 93mm Diecast Stomp Box Enclosure

The 1590APR is a compact 1590A-size rectangular diecast aluminum stomp box enclosure, finished in a glossy purple (RAL 4008) powder coat. It is made for effects pedal designers and DIY builders looking for a distinctive colour, and at a nominal 93 x 39 x 31 mm (3.66 x 1.54 x 1.22 in) it suits small single-function pedals and compact electronic projects.

The enclosure is rugged diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. It is factory powder coated to save builders time and money, with a smooth glossy polyester powder coat that gives a lasting finish even after machining. The smooth surface allows easy adhesion of labels or silk screens, and the purple colour is matched to RAL 4008.

Lap joint construction protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the box is designed to meet IP54. Adding the optional 1590AGASKET kit together with water-tight screws is required to reach IP65. The drawing gives inside dimensions of 87.80 mm [3.457 in] long, 33.70 mm [1.327 in] wide and 27.40 mm [1.079 in] high, and the side wall draft angle of 2 degrees or less makes PC board mounting easier.

The purchased assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws (6-32 UNC); recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with a gasket. Replacement hardware includes nickel plated #6-32 x 1/2 in screws (1590MS100, package of 100), black screws (1590MS50BK, package of 50) and tamper-resistant screws (1590MS50T or 1590MS50TBK, packages of 50). The 1590APR ships at 0.32 lbs (0.15 kg) and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
