Hammond 1589T24G1 20A 24-Inch 8-Outlet Vertical PDU, Pilot Light

The 1589T24G1 is a 24 in. (610 mm) vertical basic power distribution unit with eight NEMA 5-20R outlets, rated 20 A at 120 VAC. It is built for IT, AV and facilities users who need straightforward power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or mounted horizontally above a work bench. This version uses a power indicator (pilot) light rather than an on/off switch; the switched equivalent in the series is 1589H24G1.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, keeping the strip rugged but light. The heavy-duty black receptacles are 1 in. square, single T-slot NEMA 5-20R rated for 20 A, 125 VAC service, and are equally spaced over the length of the strip. All eight outlets face the front; there are no rear outlets and no rotated outlets. A resettable 20 amp circuit breaker is built in. This model does not include surge protection or metering and is not hospital grade.

Power comes from an integral molded NEMA 5-20P straight blade plug on a 15 ft heavy-duty 12 gauge cord (12/3 SJT) suited to extreme temperature ranges, with an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C. Overall assembly length on the drawing is 608.79 mm (23.968 in). Shipping weight is 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg). The finish is natural; black is available in the series upon request.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with 1589T24G1; order P/N 1585CLIP for an additional hardware kit. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The unit is UL/cUL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14, TAA-compliant, RoHS compliant, and manufactured in North America.
