Hammond 1589H77D1JV 77in 20A Vertical PDU, Shielded Locking Cord

The 1589H77D1JV is a 77 in (1956 mm) vertical basic power distribution unit from the 1588-9-JV series, rated 20 amps at 120VAC with 5-20R outlets and a 15 ft shielded cord terminated in a NEMA L5-20P twist-locking plug. It is intended for IT, AV and industrial installations that need a long vertical power bar mounted alongside or behind a rack, particularly where electromagnetic or radio frequency interference is a concern.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic ends, supplied in a Natural finish, giving a rugged but light weight assembly at a 6.5 lbs (2.95 kg) shipping weight. The cord shielding uses 100% aluminum foil coverage with a 20 gauge drain wire to reduce EMI/RFI and "dirty" power from the utility supply. Receptacles are 1 in square and equally spaced over the length of the strip, and all outlets face the front of the unit.

Control and protection are built in: an on/off rocker power switch and a resettable circuit breaker are located at the cord end of the housing. Overall assembly length is 77.472 in (1967.79 mm) with a 1.616 in (41.05 mm) profile at the breaker end. This unit does not include surge protection or metering and is not hospital grade.

Every 1589H77D1JV outlet strip ships with a hardware mounting kit and includes a toolless PDU button mounting provision; additional hardware kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Per the series notes, outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear rails for vertical mounting. The unit is cULus Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
