Hammond 1588T12B1S 77 in 12-Outlet Vertical PDU, 1080 J Surge

The 1588T12B1S is a 77-inch vertical basic power distribution unit with 12 NEMA 5-15R outlets, built-in surge protection and a pilot light. It is intended for IT, AV and facilities teams that need single-phase 15A, 125VAC distribution down the full height of a server cabinet, a wall mount cabinet or an open frame rack — and it can also be installed horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic ends, keeping the strip rugged but light weight. The receptacles are 1" square and equally spaced over the length of the strip at 127.00 mm [5.000 in] intervals, with all 12 outlets on the front face and none on the rear. This version has no on/off switch; instead a power indicator light shows the strip is live, and a resettable 15 Amp circuit breaker protects the load. A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included, and additional kits are available under P/N 1585CLIP.

Surge suppression is integral: 1080 Joules maximum energy, 25000 Amp rated MOVs for a total of 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a 500V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a 5kA nominal discharge current. A green indicator light confirms the surge module is active; at the end of the module's useful life internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the light while power to the load is maintained, now unprotected.

The 1588T12B1S is supplied with a 15 ft heavy duty 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges, with an integral molded NEMA 5-15P straight blade plug. It is cULus Listed to UL 1449 & C22.2 No. 269.3-17 (Type 3 Surge Protective Devices) and to UL 1363 & C22.2 No. 308-18 for relocatable power taps and multi outlet assemblies, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
