Hammond 1583H6A1BK 1U 6-Outlet Rack Mount PDU, 15A Switched

The 1583H6A1BK is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount outlet strip (basic PDU) rated 15 A at 120 VAC, designed to distribute single-phase power from the rear of an equipment rack. It suits IT, AV, broadcast and industrial racks where servers, switches, amplifiers or test gear need clean, switched power without occupying more than one rack unit.

Six NEMA 5-15R outlets are arranged on the rear face of the unit (0 front, 6 rear), so patch cords stay behind the equipment and out of the way of front-panel access. The outlets are not rotated on this model. Power is controlled by an illuminated on/off rocker switch, and a resettable 15 A, 125 VAC circuit breaker guards against accidental overload. Connection is by an integral 6 ft cord with a moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug, using heavy-duty 14/3 SJT 14 gauge wire suited to extreme temperature ranges.

The chassis measures 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with an 18.188 in (461.98 mm) faceplate detail and 17.500 in (444.50 mm) mounting hole centres per the drawing, and ships at 3.48 lbs (1.58 kg). Front and back are black painted steel, finished in RAL9005 black powder coat that complies with Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality.

1583H6A1BK is rated 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps and is UL Recognized to Standard UL1363 with CSA Certification to C22.2 (No. 21-95, 42-99); the series is also UL/cUL recognized to CSA C22.2 No. 308-14 and No. 0.4-04 under UL file E166039. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America. This version has no surge protection, no shielded cord and no ammeter.
