Hammond 1583H16A1SBKX 1U Surge-Protected 16-Outlet Rack PDU, 15A

The 1583H16A1SBKX is a 1U horizontal rack mount basic PDU for 19" racks and cabinets, giving IT, AV and facilities teams 16 NEMA 5-15R outlets from a single rack space. Eight outlets face the front and eight face the rear, so patch-panel gear, shelf-mounted devices and rear-mounted equipment can all be fed from the same strip. An illuminated on/off rocker switch provides local control and visual confirmation that the strip is live.

This model is rated 15 A single-phase 125 V and includes a 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker to prevent accidental overload. Power comes in through a heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug, supplied in a 6 ft length. The surge-protected version incorporates Hammond's surge module: 1080 J maximum energy, 25000 Amp-rated MOVs for 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a 500 V Voltage Protection Rating in L-N, L-G and N-G modes, and a 5 kA nominal discharge current. A green indicator light confirms the module is active; internal protection disconnects the module at the end of its useful life and extinguishes the light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected.
