The 1553DIR-BULK is an infrared end panel for size D enclosures in the 1553 Series of soft-sided handheld cases. It is intended for handheld remotes, IR transmitters and receivers, and other devices that need to send or receive infrared signals through the end of the case.
The panel replaces the existing front plastic panel of the enclosure. It is a dark red plastic filter that is transparent to IR, molded from polycarbonate with a UL94 V-0 flame rating. The series lists it for all 1553 "D" sized enclosures, and it is sold singly.
It measures 2.56 x 0.73 x 0.11 in (65 x 19 x 3 mm) and has a shipping weight of 0.02 lbs (0.01 kg). The 1553DIR-BULK is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap.
Polycarbonate can be sensitive to certain chemicals. The manufacturer advises against acetone, ketones, ethers, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, strong solvents or cleaners, and thread-locking compounds; use only cleaners listed as plastic safe, and clear chips with an air blast rather than cutting fluid when making modifications.
