Hammond 1553DGY 147x89x25mm Grey Handheld Enclosure, Soft Overmold

The 1553DGY is the grey-on-grey size D enclosure in the 1553 Series of soft-sided handheld cases. A light grey ABS body with a grey overmold gives a neutral look for handheld test gear, lab instruments and portable controllers that need the largest board area in the 1553 family.

The body is molded from general purpose ABS plastic with a UL94 HB flame rating and a soft plastic overmold for a comfortable grip. The top cover is recessed to take a membrane display or keypad, and PC board standoffs are molded into the case so the board aligns on the PCB bosses. As a single end panel version without a battery door, it is rated IP54.

Overall dimensions are 147 mm long, 89 mm wide and 25 mm deep (5.79 x 3.50 x 0.98 in); the nominal listed size is 5.8 x 3.5 x 0.98 in. The inner box is 140.24 mm long with an inner height of 19.50 mm, and the ordering table gives a maximum PC board of 139 mm x 74 mm (5.47 x 2.91 in).

The 1553DGY is supplied with the top, bottom, removable front plastic panel and 4 cover screws; the PC board is not supplied. Grey 1553 enclosures include nickel plated screws. The replacement lid screw pack is 1593QS100 (silver), and the recommended cover screw torque is 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). PC board mounting screws are ordered separately as 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100.

It is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in shrink wrap at 0.21 lbs (0.10 kg), and can be factory modified with milling, drilling or printing.
