Hammond 1551USB1BK 35 x 20mm Black USB-A Dongle Enclosure

The 1551USB1BK is a black ABS plastic miniature enclosure with an integrated cutout for a male USB-A connector, measuring 35 mm x 20 mm x 15 mm (1.38 in x 0.79 in x 0.61 in). It is the smallest size in the 1551USB series and is aimed at developers and OEMs building USB dongles and small printed circuit boards with male USB-A connectors. The USB connector itself is not included.

The enclosure is molded from general purpose ABS in black (RAL 9011) with a satin texture finish and a UL94 HB flammability rating. It is designed to meet IP51. The cover is recessed with a 0.50 mm [0.02 in] inlay depth so a label can be applied flush.

Standoffs molded into the interior accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws for board mounting; these are not included (order 1553WTS100, pack of 100). The maximum PC board size is 15.5 mm x 31.25 mm. The lid is fastened with the two black #2 x 1/2" self-tapping screws supplied, at a recommended torque of 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). Extra screws are 1551USB50BK (black) or 1551USB50 (silver), each a pack of 50.

The 1551USB1BK is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, and has a listed shipping weight of 0.01 lbs. It is also offered in grey, translucent clear, translucent smoke and translucent red, and the same size without a USB cutout is available in the 1551MINI series. Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) and .stp or .x_t solid models are available. Avoid acetone, ketones, thread-locking compounds and strong solvents on ABS.
