Hammond 1551SNAP4BK 80x80 mm Unvented Black ABS Snap-Fit Enclosure

The 1551SNAP4BK is the largest square size of the unvented 1551SNAP range: a black ABS miniature enclosure with a nominal 80 x 80 mm footprint and 20 mm depth. It suits IoT devices, sensors and general purpose electronics on a PC board up to 73.5 x 73.5 mm.

Molded in ABS plastic with a UL94 HB flame rating and designed to meet IP30, the closed housing snaps together without fasteners and can be reopened repeatedly whenever the electronics need attention.

Overall size is listed as 3.15 in x 3.15 in x 0.79 in (80 mm x 80 mm x 20 mm), with a drawing height of 20.30 mm [.80 in] for the assembled enclosure. Four PC board standoffs are molded into the interior and accept #2 self tapping screws; Hammond recommends #2 x 3/16" self tapping screws, sold separately as 1553WTS100 (pack of 100), tightened to a recommended torque of (21-28) ozf.in / (15-20) cN.m. Shipping weight is 0.1 lbs (0.05 kg).

The part is RoHS and REACH compliant. The same size is also offered as the vented 1551V4BK. Hammond notes that some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, thread locking compounds and cutting fluids, can damage ABS plastic, so check compatibility before cleaning or modifying the enclosure.
