Hammond 1551PBK 40x40x20mm Black ABS Square Enclosure, IP54

The 1551PBK is a 40 x 40 x 20 mm square black ABS enclosure in the 1551 miniature hand held series. It gives compact electronics a clean, closed housing and is equally suited to mounting a small printed circuit board or serving as a potting box.

It is molded in general purpose ABS plastic, black to RAL 9011, rated UL94 HB, with walls 2 mm (0.08 in) thick. Box and lid join with a lap joint that protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

Outside it measures 1.57 x 1.57 x 0.79 in (40 x 40 x 20 mm) including the lid. The inside cavity is 34.72 x 34.72 mm with 16.00 mm (0.63 in) of height, and the maximum P.C. board size is 34 x 34 mm. Boards fix to molded standoffs with #2 x 3/16 in self-tapping screws (not included; 1551ATS100 is a pack of 100).

The 1551PBK is supplied with its box, lid and 2 black plated #4 x 1/2 in self-tapping cover screws; recommended torque is 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in a bag at 0.04 lbs (0.02 kg). The same footprint at 15 mm deep is 1551QBK, and a flanged-lid version is 1551PFLBK.
