Hammond 1551JTBU 60x35x15mm Translucent Blue ABS Miniature Enclosure

The 1551JTBU is a translucent blue ABS plastic miniature hand held enclosure from the 1551 series, with a nominal size of 60 x 35 x 15 mm (2.36 in x 1.38 in x 0.59 in). It is intended for OEM engineers, electronics designers and installers who need a small general purpose box for mounting a compact printed circuit board or for use as a potting box.

The enclosure is molded from general purpose ABS plastic with 2 mm (0.08") walls and carries a UL94 HB flame rating. Colour is translucent blue, and the self-tapping lid screws are colour matched: black plated screws are supplied with this translucent blue version. Lap joint construction between box and lid protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

This is the low-profile 60 x 35 mm size: at 15 mm overall depth it has 11.00 mm of inside height, suited to thin boards up to 54.5 mm by 29.5 mm or to shallow potting. Inside dimensions are 55.17 mm [2.17 in] long, 30.17 mm [1.19 in] wide and 11.00 mm [0.43 in] high. PC board mounting bosses are molded into the interior and accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws (not included; part number 1551ATS100, nickel plated, pack of 100).

The 1551JTBU is supplied as box, lid and 2 cover screws (#4 x 1/2" self-tapping), with a recommended lid screw torque of 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). It is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, with a shipping weight of 0.05 lbs (0.02 kg). Some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, thread locking compounds and cutting fluids, can damage ABS, so check compatibility before use.
