Hammond 1551GRGY 50x35x20mm Gray ABS Enclosure with Key Ring

The 1551GRGY is a light gray ABS plastic miniature hand held enclosure with key ring, one of the three 1551 series sizes offered with an integrated key ring. It measures 50 x 35 x 20 mm (1.97 in x 1.38 in x 0.79 in), and key ring models are predrilled in the narrow side. It suits designers building key fob style electronics such as small remotes or tags around a compact printed circuit board.

The enclosure is molded from general purpose ABS plastic with 2 mm (0.08") walls and carries a UL94 HB flame rating. Colour is light gray (RAL 7035), and the self-tapping lid screws are colour matched: nickel plated screws are supplied with this light gray version. Lap joint construction between box and lid protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

The 50 x 35 mm footprint with 20 mm depth gives 44.73 mm of inside length and 16.00 mm of inside height, sized for a board up to 44 mm by 29 mm. Inside dimensions are 44.73 mm [1.76 in] long, 29.73 mm [1.17 in] wide and 16.00 mm [0.63 in] high. PC board mounting bosses are molded into the interior and accept #2 x 3/16" self-tapping screws (not included; part number 1551ATS100, nickel plated, pack of 100).

The 1551GRGY is supplied as box, lid and 2 cover screws (#4 x 1/2" self-tapping), with a recommended lid screw torque of 35-43 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m). It is RoHS and REACH compliant, packed in a bag, with a shipping weight of 0.04 lbs (0.02 kg). Some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, thread locking compounds and cutting fluids, can damage ABS, so check compatibility before use.
