Hammond 1550Z139 159 mm Square Deep Watertight Diecast Aluminum Box

The 1550Z139 is a large, square, deep thick-wall watertight diecast aluminum enclosure. The part page lists its size as 6.28 in x 6.28 in x 4.02 in (160 mm x 160 mm x 102 mm), while the ordering table gives 6.26 in (159 mm) square with a total depth of 4.02 in (102 mm). It suits integrators and OEM engineers housing larger square boards, terminal assemblies or instrumentation in wet or dusty areas.

The drawing shows an inside length and width of 149.86 mm [5.90 in] and an inside depth of 97.00 mm [3.82 in], with a lid height of 0.83 in (21 mm). Four stainless steel Philips head M4 - 0.7 lid screws are self-captivating on this size, since the lid holes are slightly undersized and threaded with the first installation. They sit outside the pre-formed silicone gasket; recommended torque is 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m). The box can be wall mounted through blind thru-box holes accessed outside the gasket ring, and it accepts a #6 self tapping ground screw inside.
