Hammond 1550Z137BK Black 121 x x 102 mm Deep Watertight Diecast Box

The 1550Z137BK is the black textured version of the 1550Z137, a square and deep thick-wall watertight diecast aluminum enclosure of 4.76 in x 4.76 in x 4 in (121 mm x 121 mm x 102 mm). Integrators and OEM engineers choose it when a sealed metal housing with a finished black appearance is needed for sensors, controls or instrumentation.

Its polyester powder coat is applied outside and inside and holds up even after machining. Inside, the drawing shows 111.27 mm [4.38 in] square with an inside depth of 96.70 mm [3.81 in], and the maximum P.C. board size is 110.12 mm x 110.12 mm. The rib-free walls let you fit connectors without additional milling.

• Inside box accepts a #6 self tapping ground screw

The lid holes are slightly undersized and threaded with the first installation, so the screws become captive in the lid. They sit outside the pre-formed silicone gasket, which is rated -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F); recommended cover screw torque is 5-7.5 lbf.in (50-75 cN.m).

The 1550Z137BK is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 12 & 13 and IK08 per IEC62262, is cUL and UL listed under file #E71073, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. It ships shrink wrapped at 1.72 lbs (0.78 kg).
