The Hammond 1550CEGASKET is a replacement IP66 gasket kit for the 1550 Series diecast aluminum enclosures, sized for the 4.53 in (115 mm) x 3.54 in (90 mm) footprint of the 1550C. Each kit includes two pre-formed EVA foam gaskets, so one pack covers two enclosures.
Designed to meet IP66 with a properly installed gasket and lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m, the EVA foam gasket is rated up to 65°C (149°F). Without a gasket the 1550 enclosure is designed to meet IP54, so this kit is the step up to IP66 sealing.
The gaskets have adhesive backing for easy installation on the lid, where a gasket retainer gives accurate, steady positioning of the seal. Compatible enclosure part numbers are 1550C, 1550CBK, 1550WC, 1550WCBK. The upgrade silicone IP67 alternative for the same size is 1550CSGASKET.
On the enclosure side, the 1550 Series lid is fastened with M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Philips head machine screws into factory tapped holes, which is what you torque to 55 cN.m to compress the gasket. Enclosures ordered in the W versions ship with the IP66 gasket loose inside the enclosure; this kit lets you add or replace that seal on a standard box.
1550CEGASKET is made of EVA foam, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships in a bag with a listed shipping weight of 0.01 lbs (0.00 kg).
