Hammond 1550BSGASKET IP67 Silicone Gasket Kit for 1550B/1550D, 2-Pack

The Hammond 1550BSGASKET is a upgraded IP67 gasket kit for the 1550 Series diecast aluminum enclosures, sized for the 4.53 x 2.52 in (115 x 64 mm) footprint, used by the 30 mm high 1550B and 55 mm high 1550D. Each kit includes two pre-formed silicone gaskets, so one pack covers two enclosures.

Tested to meet IP67 with a properly installed gasket and lid screws torqued at 55 cN.m, the silicone gasket is rated -40°C to +150°C (-40°F to 302°F). Without a gasket the 1550 enclosure is designed to meet IP54, so this kit is the step past the IP66 EVA kit to IP67.

The gaskets have adhesive backing for easy installation on the lid, where a gasket retainer gives accurate, steady positioning of the seal. Compatible enclosure part numbers are 1550B, 1550BBK, 1550WB, 1550WBBK, 1550D, 1550DBK, 1550WD, 1550WDBK. The economical EVA foam IP66 alternative for the same size is 1550BEGASKET.

On the enclosure side, the 1550 Series lid is fastened with M3.5 x 0.6 x 12 mm stainless steel Philips head machine screws into factory tapped holes, which is what you torque to 55 cN.m to compress the gasket. Enclosures ordered in the W versions ship with the IP66 gasket loose inside the enclosure; this kit lets you add or replace that seal on a standard box.
