It belongs to the 1489 Series of Type 12 mild steel pushbutton enclosures and suits OEM machine builders and plant electricians building larger operator stations.
Its body measures 17.25 in H x 16.25 in W x 6.00 in D (438 x 413 x 152 mm). The drawing lists a 17.62 x 16.59 in door, 5.51 in usable depth and 1.21 in pushbutton holes spaced 2.25 in apart. A removable 14 gauge inner panel of 15.25 x 14.25 in (387 x 362 mm), white powder coated, is included and fastens to weldnuts inside the box.
Construction is formed 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive. The cover closes with captive, plated steel screws that thread into sealed wells, helping protect contents from dirt, dust, oil and water. Both cover and body are phosphatized and powder coated ANSI 61 gray.
