The 1489P30 is a Type 12 mild steel pushbutton enclosure with a continuously hinged cover and 30 holes for 30.5 mm operators. It is designed to accept standard heavy duty oil tight pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights, making it a practical station for machine builders, panel shops and maintenance electricians who need a large grid of controls in one box.
The body is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth continuously welded seams. The hinged cover is secured by captive, plated steel screws that fasten into threaded sealed wells, and an oil resistant gasket and adhesive help keep out dirt, dust, oil and water. Cover and enclosure are phosphatized and finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating, while the included removable 14 gauge inner panel is finished in white powder coating and mounts on weldnuts.
The enclosure measures 17.25 in H x 14.00 in W x 6.00 in D (438 x 356 x 152 mm), with a 15.25 x 12.00 in (387 x 305 mm) inner panel and 5.51 in of usable depth according to the drawing. Pushbutton holes are 1.21 in diameter on 2.25 in centres. Welded brackets with 0.25 in holes handle enclosure mounting.
