The Hammond 1487EW is a cut-off fitting for 8 x 8 N12 lay-in wireway. Made of steel with a gray finish, it is the largest fitting in the 1487 W Series and is used to create custom-length sections in large wireway runs.
The body comes in two pieces. The installer cuts off one piece, shortens the cover and welds the parts together, so an 8 x 8 run can be closed out at exactly the length needed. The 1487 W Series specification sheet states that these fittings do not meet CSA or UL requirements.
