The 1487ERCCSS is a 304 stainless steel center-hole reducer for NEMA 4X (N4X) wireway. It makes a two-size step in one fitting, taking an 8 x 8 run directly down to 4 x 4, which is useful when a large trunk feeds a much smaller branch.
Per the series ordering table, the plate measures 9.62 in (244 mm) in height and width. The manufacturer drawing shows it at 9.63 in square with a 0.13 in plate, a 3.85 in square opening in the middle, and 0.28 in diameter mounting holes. Keeping the opening centered puts the 4 x 4 wireway on the same centerline as the 8 x 8 run.
