It is aimed at electricians, OEM machine builders and plant maintenance teams who need an N4X (NEMA 4X) rated stainless raceway to protect cabling projects such as machine building and general plant wiring.

The section is formed in 304 stainless steel (304SS) and belongs to the 1487 stainless steel pull-through wireway line, which the product overview describes as hinged-cover wireway offered in NEMA 12 and 4X. The part drawing shows a hinged door running 58.47 in along the front, a gasket on the door, and 56.75 in x 2.73 in of clear space available on the door. A single 60 in piece covers the distance of five 12 in sections, reducing the number of flange joints in a run.

Overall size is 4 in x 4 in x 60 in (102 mm x 102 mm x 1,524 mm). Per the drawing, the body measures 4.00 in outside with a 3.86 in inside dimension, the end flanges are 5.38 in square, the door is 4.38 in wide, and the flanges carry 0.28 in diameter holes on 2.31 in spacing for bolting to the next section or fitting.

1487C60SS is marked REACH compliant and RoHS compliant. It ships in a box with a shipping weight of 27 lbs (12.25 kg). In the 1487SSS series table it is the 60" Section in the 4 x 4 column.
