Hammond 1485FY 12x6 Lay-In Wireway Cross Fitting, Type 12

The 1485FY is a four-way cross fitting for 12 x 6 in N12 lay-in wireway in the 1485 Type 12 system. It lets a wireway run branch in four directions at one junction, and is aimed at panel shops, machine builders and electricians routing control and power wiring through plant installations.

Like all 1485 sections and fittings, it is completely open on each side, so wires and cables are laid into the wireway rather than pulled through. The flanges are open at the top so cables can lay in when the doors are open. The 12 x 6 size uses a 12 gauge steel body with a 14-gauge cover and 10 gauge steel flanges, with smooth continuously welded seams and smooth interior surfaces that prevent wire damage during installation. The finish is ANSI 61 gray powder coating.

The butt hinged cover is secured with easily operated quick release clamps, and its oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. When sections and fittings are bolted together, solid oil resistant gaskets seal between the flanges. The 1485FY is supplied with three flat sealing plates, which are put in place after wiring is completed, plus one gasket kit complete with hardware. Per the drawing it measures 18.00 x 18.00 in overall with an 11.87 x 5.81 in inside size and Ø0.28 in holes.

The fitting carries UL 870 Type 1 and CSA Type 1 approval (UL File E186830, CSA LL21312) and complies with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP54, protecting wiring from dirt, dust, oil and water. When joining the wireway to an enclosure, order a box connector. Shipping weight is 22 lbs (9.98 kg), packed in a box.
