Hammond 1481WDH1418 8 x 9 in Viewing Area Deep Hinged Window Kit

The 1481WDH1418 is a 1481WDH Series deep hinged window kit that puts a 8.00 x 9.17 in window over equipment installed inside an enclosure. It lets operators and maintenance staff see the equipment inside without opening the enclosure, while the hinged door keeps components protected and easy to reach. Hammond lists it as an N4 deep hinged window door kit in steel/gray.

The frame is 14 gauge mild steel finished in ANSI 61 gray recoatable powder, and the window is 0.25 in thick, UV resistant polycarbonate. This painted steel version carries UL/CSA Type 12 and Type 4 ratings and maintains the Type 4 and 12 protection level of the enclosure; the 316 stainless steel equivalent, 1481WSSDH1418, adds Type 4X.

Overall dimensions are 12.19 x 14.56 in (310 x 370 mm), with a listed size of 12.2 in x 14.5 in x 2.75 in (310 mm x 368 mm x 70 mm). The viewing area is 8.00 x 9.17 in (203 x 233 mm) and the kit accepts a maximum cut-out of 9.19 x 11.56 in (233 x 294 mm). The deep design provides 2.5 inches of extra usable depth behind the door. Shipping weight is 12 lbs (5.44 kg).

A quarter turn latch gives quick access, an oil resistant neoprene gasket ensures a watertight seal, and the hinges can be oriented in any direction. Mounting hardware and a template are included (the drawing shows a back-view drilling template with 0.28 in holes). The kit is sized to mount on the door of any Hammond Wallmount Series enclosure, or on any other Hammond enclosure with a suitable mounting surface.
