The 1471C36 is the 36 in wide model of the 1471 Series Type 12 console cabinet, combining a sloped front with a continuously hinged cover. It is built to house electrical, electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic controls and instruments, and the sloping front panel provides a surface for operator controls or instrumentation. The heavy-duty construction protects against dirt, dust, oil and water.
It is formed from 14 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes. The sloped front instrument panel hinges along its front (bottom) edge and is fastened with captive panel screws threaded into sealed wells; the door and instrument panel can each be removed by pulling the hinge pin. A three point latch with a key locking automotive type handle secures the door, and oil resistant gaskets are permanently secured. The enclosure is phosphatized and powder coated ANSI 61 gray inside and outside.

Collar studs are provided for mounting the inner panels, and the cabinet includes a bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud in the enclosure and a literature pocket. The series is rated UL 508A Type 12 and CSA Type 12, complying with NEMA Type 12 and IEC 60529 IP54. The 1471C36 carries UL file E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001, is REACH and RoHS compliant, and ships on a skid at 210 lbs (95.25 kg).
