Hammond 1457U2802EBK 280mm Flanged EMI Shielded Black Enclosure

The Hammond 1457U2802EBK is an EMI/RFI shielded extruded aluminum enclosure from the 1457-EMI Series, built to house PC boards or interface electronics that need a conductive, shielded case. It measures 280 mm long x 191 mm wide x 68 mm high (11.02 x 7.52 x 2.68 in) and is sized for standard Eurocards, with boards sliding horizontally into slots extruded into the body. The drawing states it fits a 280 mm x 186 mm PCB; the part data lists a maximum board size of 279 x 185 mm.

The extruded body is finished in black powder coat (BK3 in the short description). The body is one piece of extruded aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06 in (1.5 mm) and a recessed area for a label or membrane keypad. The end panels are diecast aluminum painted in black satin powder paint and are easy to machine for connectors, switches and cable entries. Full-perimeter conductive foam/fabric gaskets of Ni/Cu with conductive pressure sensitive adhesive (CPSA) seal the ends electrically, and the assembly is designed to meet IP54.

This is the flanged version: the two diecast aluminum end panels carry integrated wall-mounting flanges, bringing the overall length on the drawing to 311.93 mm [12.281 in] and the flange width to 193.96 mm [7.636 in], so the case can be screwed to a wall, panel or chassis. Choose 1457U2801EBK if you need the same 280 mm body with flat end panels instead.

Each 1457U2802EBK includes the extruded body, two end panels, two adhesive conductive end plate gaskets, and stainless steel assembly hardware with a rubber o-ring and adhesive rubber feet. The thread forming screws are black zinc plated to ASTM B633-13 (Type II, 96 hour salt spray; SC3 severe, 12 micron coating); recommended screw torque is 5 lbf/in. Spare end panels (1457UEPF 2-pack, 1457UEPF-10 10-pack), gaskets (1457UEG-10 EMI, 1457UPG-10 water-tight) and 100-packs of screws (1457MS100) are sold separately. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships at 1.6 lbs (0.73 kg).
