The 1457U2802 is a 280 mm long, IP65 watertight PC board enclosure from the 1457 Series, built around a one-piece aluminum extrusion in a clear anodized finish. It is intended for OEM engineers and integrators who need to house a circuit board or interface equipment in a tough, sealed metal case. Nominal size is 11.02 in x 7.52 in x 2.68 in (280 mm x 191 mm x 68 mm).
Boards slide horizontally into internal slots extruded into the body, so no standoffs are needed. The part data lists a maximum board of 279 x 185 mm, while the drawing states it fits a 280mm (11.024") X 186mm (7.323") PCB. The inside face-to-face dimension is 280.00 ±0.50 mm [11.024 ±0.020 in], and the body wall has a minimum thickness of 1.5 mm (0.06”). A recessed area on the extrusion takes a label or membrane keypad.
Each enclosure ships with two diecast aluminum end panels in black satin powder paint, two closed-cell polyethylene foam end plate gaskets, stainless steel assembly hardware with rubber o-rings, and adhesive rubber feet. The black zinc plated thread forming screws meet ASTM B633-13 Type II (96 hour salt spray) and SC3 (12 micron) ratings; recommended torque is 5 lbf/in.
Being the flanged version, 1457U2802 uses end panels with integrated mounting flanges. On the drawing the assembly measures 311.93 mm [12.281 in] over the flanges, with flange mounting holes on 299.93 mm [11.808 in] centres and a flange width of 193.96 mm [7.636 in], so the enclosure can be fixed directly to a wall or panel. The non-flanged equivalent is 1457U2801.
The 1457U2802 is RoHS and REACH compliant, weighs 1.6 lbs (0.73 kg) shipped and is packed in shrink wrap. The factory can mill, drill or print enclosures to order, and STEP or IGES solid models are available for design work.
