Hammond 1457T2202EBK 220mm Flanged EMI/RFI Aluminum Enclosure, Black

The 1457T2202EBK is a wide-body EMI/RFI shielded enclosure: a 220 mm long extrusion roughly 165 mm wide and 55 mm tall, finished with flanged end panels with integrated wall-mounting flanges. It takes boards up to 219 x 159 mm (part data), so larger control and interface boards can be housed in a single shielded aluminum case.

The body is one piece of extruded aluminum 6063 with a minimum thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm) and a 0.75 mm (0.030") deep recess for a label or membrane keypad. The extruded body is finished in black powder coat, and the two Type 380 diecast aluminum end panels are painted in a durable black satin powder paint, giving an all-black exterior. Full perimeter conductive foam/fabric gaskets of Ni/Cu (nickel/copper) with conductive pressure sensitive adhesive seal each end panel to the body.

Nominal size is 8.66 in x 6.51 in x 2.15 in (220 mm x 165 mm x 55 mm), with an inside face-to-face dimension of 220.00 ±0.50 mm [8.661 ±0.020 in]. PC boards slide horizontally into internal slots extruded into the body; part data lists a maximum board of 219 mm x 159 mm, and the drawing notes "Fits 220mm (8.661") X 160mm (6.299") PCB". Shipping weight is 1.74 lbs (0.79 kg).

Integrated flanges on the end panels let the 1457T2202EBK be screwed to a wall or panel; the drawing shows 251.97 mm [9.920 in] overall length with flange mounting holes on 239.75 mm [9.439 in] centres. If you prefer a free-standing box, the same body is offered with flat end panels as 1457T2201EBK. Assembly uses #6 Taptight thread forming screws with O-rings, black zinc plated to ASTM B633-13 (Type II, SC3); the recommended screw torque is 5 lbf/in.

The enclosure is designed to meet IP54 and is RoHS and REACH compliant. Note that the EMI gaskets are not water-tight. Solid models are available in STEP or IGES, and the factory can mill, drill or print the enclosure.
