Hammond 1457N1601 160mm IP65 Extruded Aluminum Enclosure, Clear Anodized

The 1457N1601 is the 160 mm long member of the 1457N family of watertight extruded aluminum enclosures. It gives engineers a longer, sealed housing for PC boards or equipment interfacing, measuring 6.3 in x 4.09 in x 2.15 in (160 mm x 104 mm x 55 mm), and is designed to meet IP65.

The clear anodized body is extruded from aluminum 6063 in one piece with a minimum wall of 0.06" (1.5 mm). Black powder painted end panels close each end and are made from Type 380 diecast aluminum, which machines easily for cable glands, connectors or switches. Full perimeter self-adhesive gaskets seal each end.

Boards slide horizontally into internal slots. The part page lists maximum P.C. board dimensions of 159 mm x 99 mm; the series ordering table gives 160.00 mm x 100.00 mm. On the drawing, the inside face-to-face length is 160.00 ± 0.50 mm, inside width 101.00 ± 0.75 mm and the overall length across the end panels 172.15 mm.

Flat end panels without flanges make this version suitable for free-standing or built-in use; self-adhesive rubber feet are included, along with #6 Taptight screws with O-rings and the gaskets. The body carries a 0.75 mm deep recess for labels or a membrane keypad.
