Hammond 1457K1202BK 120x84x44mm Flanged IP65 Aluminum Enclosure, Black

The 1457K1202BK is a 120 mm long, 84 mm wide, 44 mm high watertight extruded aluminum enclosure fitted with flanged end panels for surface mounting. With the tall K-profile body in a short length, it is a good match for compact controllers or interface boards that carry taller parts and need to be fixed to a wall, cabinet back-plate or machine.

This version has a black powder coat extrusion; the drawing describes it as a black powder painted box and end panels. The one-piece extruded body is made from 6063 aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm), and the end panels are Type 380 Diecast Aluminum with a black powder paint finish that is easy to machine for connectors, glands or switches. A 0.75 mm (.030") deep recess on the body accepts a label or membrane keypad. The same size with a clear anodized body is 1457K1202.

Nominal size is 4.73 in x 3.3 in x 1.73 in (120 mm x 84 mm x 44 mm). The drawing shows a 44.11 mm [1.737 in] extrusion height, end panels 86.89 mm [3.421 in] wide by 46.92 mm [1.847 in] high and an inside face-to-face dimension of 120.00 ±0.50 mm [4.724 ±0.020 in]. With the integrated mounting flanges the overall length grows to 152.15 mm [5.990 in], and the flanges are 40.00 mm [1.575 in] wide. The board slides horizontally into slots extruded into the body; the drawing notes the enclosure fits a 120mm (4.724") X 80mm (3.149") PCB, while the part page lists a maximum board of 119 mm x 79 mm.

Each assembly includes the box, two end panels, two closed-cell polyethylene foam end plate gaskets, #6 Taptight stainless steel screws with rubber O-rings and self-adhesive rubber feet. The thread-forming screws are black zinc plated for corrosion protection to ASTM B633-13, with a recommended torque of 5 lbf/in; replacement screws come in packs of 100 as 1457MS100. The part is REACH and RoHS compliant, and ships shrink wrapped at 0.51 lbs (0.23 kg).
