Hammond 1457C1202E 120 x 59mm Flanged EMI/RFI Enclosure, Clear

The 1457C1202E is an EMI/RFI shielded extruded aluminum enclosure from the 1457-EMI Series, measuring 4.73 in x 2.32 in x 1.21 in (120 mm x 59 mm x 31 mm). It is aimed at design engineers who need to house a PC board in a metal case with conductive seals at the ends to control electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference. The body is clear anodized, while the end panels are black.

The body is a single aluminum extrusion with a minimum wall of 1.5 mm (0.06”), and boards slide horizontally into slots extruded into its sides. Maximum board size is 119 x 54.5 mm per the part data (120.00 x 55.00 mm in the series table). The drawing shows 129.40 mm [5.094 in] overall length with end panels, an inside face-to-face dimension of 120.00 ±0.50 mm, and states it fits a 120mm (4.724") X 55.0mm (2.165") PCB.

Each diecast aluminum end panel is painted in black satin powder paint and sealed with a full-perimeter conductive foam/fabric gasket made of Ni/Cu (nickel/copper) with CPSA (conductive pressure sensitive adhesive). The enclosure is rated IP54; the series notes these gaskets are not water-tight. Stainless steel hardware with rubber o-rings, adhesive rubber feet and black zinc plated screws (ASTM B633-13 Type II, SC3) are included; recommended torque is 5 lbf/in.

1457C1202E is the flanged version: its end panels carry integrated mounting flanges so the enclosure can be screwed to a wall or chassis. The drawing gives 146.50 mm [5.768 in] overall over the flanges, with flange holes on 137.50 mm [5.413 in] centres. The same enclosure without flanges is 1457C1201E.

The 120 mm length keeps the same 59 x 31 mm cross-section as the 80 mm 1457C models while adding 40 mm of board length.

Shipping weight is 0.32 lbs (0.15 kg), shrink wrapped. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, and enclosures can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing.
