Hammond 1457C1202 120x59mm IP65 Clear Flanged Watertight Enclosure

The 1457C1202 is a watertight extruded aluminum enclosure from the Hammond 1457 series, designed to meet IP65. It is the flanged version, with integrated wall-mounting flanges on the end panels. It houses PC boards or serves for equipment interfacing, for OEM designers and integrators needing a small sealed metal case.

The enclosure measures 4.73 in x 2.32 in x 1.21 in (120 mm x 59 mm x 31 mm). In the series table the extrusion is 120.00 mm long, 59.00 mm wide and 31.00 mm high, and the maximum PCB size is listed as 120.00 x 55.00 mm; the part page lists the maximum P.C. board as 119 mm x 54.5 mm, and the drawing notes it fits a 120mm (4.724") X 55.0mm (2.165") PCB. Boards slide horizontally into internal slots. The drawing gives an extrusion length of 120.00 ±0.50 mm [4.724 ±0.020 in] and an overall assembly length of 146.50 mm [5.768 in].

The body is one piece of extruded aluminum with a minimum thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm) and a clear anodized finish. The body includes a recessed area 0.75 mm (0.030") deep for labels or a membrane keypad. The two end panels are diecast aluminum painted in black satin powder paint. They are easy to machine and carry full-perimeter self-adhesive gaskets.

Included in the box: the body, two diecast end panels, two closed-cell polyethylene foam end plate gaskets, and stainless steel assembly hardware with a rubber o-ring and adhesive rubber feet. The thread-forming screws are black zinc plated to ASTM B633-13, Type II (96 hour salt spray test), SC3 severe rating (12 micron coating). Recommended screw torque is 5 lbf/in, and replacement screws come in packs of 100 as 1457MS100.

Replacement end panel kits for 1457C enclosures are 1457CWPF (2-pack) and 1457CWPF-10 (10-pack). Replacement gaskets are 1457CPG-10 (watertight) and 1457CEG-10 (EMI). The black powder coat version of this part is 1457C1202BK, and the flat-panel version is 1457C1201. The 1457C1202 ships shrink-wrapped at 0.32 lbs (0.15 kg).
