Hammond 1456WK4WHBU 20 in 30° Sloped Aluminum Console, Beige Top/Blue Case

The Hammond 1456WK4WHBU is a sloped aluminum instrument console from the 1456 Series, supplied with a contempra grey (beige) top panel on a textured blue case. It is built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and integrators who need a desktop housing with an angled front panel for switches, displays, meters and controls.

The 1456WK4 body combines the widest size in the 1456 series, 20 in (508 mm), with the steepest slope, 30 degrees. It is 10.2 in (259 mm) deep, with a 1.10 in (28 mm) front edge rising to a 4.00 in (102 mm) rear wall, leaving the most rear-wall height of the 20-inch sizes.

Both the case and the top panel are made from 12 gauge (0.081 in / 2 mm) aluminum. This version pairs a contempra grey (beige) top panel with the series' textured blue case, listed as "Beige Top / Blue Case" on the drawing. The 1456WK4WHBU is rated IP31, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships shrink-wrapped at 5.16 lbs (2.34 kg). Overall dimensions on the manufacturer drawing are 514.60 mm [20.26 in] wide, 266.29 mm [10.48 in] deep and 106.83 mm [4.21 in] high.

The console is sold pre-assembled: the purchased assembly includes the case, the cover, six cover screws and four self-adhesive rubber feet. The recommended cover-screw torque is 150-175 cN-m (13.3-15.5 lbf-in). Replacement 6-32 x 1/4 in self-tapping cover screws are available as 1421J6 (natural finish, pack of 6) or 1421J6BK (black, pack of 6), and spare 0.5 x 0.5 in self-adhesive rubber feet as 1421T3 (pack of 24).

Enclosures can be factory modified with milling, drilling and printing, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES for layout work. The same 1456WK4 size is also offered as 1456WK4BKBU and 1456WK4BKBK in the other top and case colour combinations.
