Hammond 1456FG4BKBK 6.5 x 7.2 in 30° Sloped Aluminum Console, All Black

With a 30-degree sloped face on a 6.50 in (165 mm) wide footprint that rises to 4.00 in (102 mm) at the rear, the 1456FG4BKBK gives a compact bench instrument, controller or test box a steep, easy-to-read front panel. This version has a black top panel on a black case for an all-black finish, the only colour option in the 1456 table that replaces the textured blue case.

The case measures 6.50 in (165 mm) wide by 7.20 in (183 mm) deep, with a 4.00 in (102 mm) rear height dropping to a 1.10 in (28 mm) front edge. Hammond lists the nominal size as 7.2 in x 6.5 in x 4 in (183 mm x 165 mm x 102 mm), and the drawing shows overall extents of 168.28 mm [6.63 in] wide, 190.09 mm [7.48 in] deep and 106.83 mm [4.21 in] high. It is the tallest 6.5 in wide model in the 1456 table, suited to builds that need more internal height behind the panel than the 30-degree 1456FE3 (3.00 in rear).

The case is 12 gauge aluminum, 0.081 in (2 mm) thick, and the top panel is 14 gauge aluminum, 0.064 in thick. It is sold pre-assembled; the purchased assembly includes the case, cover, 4 cover screws and 4 self-adhesive rubber feet, and the case is vented on the rear and bottom. Hammond recommends a cover screw torque of 150-175 cN-m (13.3-15.5 lbf-in).

The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and carries an IP31 rating, ships shrink wrapped at 1.43 lbs (0.65 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) on request. Solid models are available in STEP or IGES, and replacement cover screws are sold as 1421J6 (natural finish) or 1421J6BK (black), with spare rubber feet as 1421T3.
