Hammond 1455ZT1601 160x89x56mm Clear Wallmount Aluminum Enclosure

The 1455ZT1601 is a clear-anodized wallmount extruded aluminum enclosure from the 1455ZT series. It is designed to house electronics that must be mounted on a shelf or a wall, and suits control panel builders, OEM engineers and integrators who want a small metal case with mounting flanges already fitted.

The body is a "U"-shaped aluminum extrusion with a flat aluminum bottom plate that slides out. Components can be mounted on the sliding plate before it goes back into the case. The extrusion has a minimum wall thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm) and is made from 6063 aluminum according to the drawing. The bottom plate and mounting flanges match the clear anodized finish.

Size is 6.3 in x 3.5 in x 2.2 in (160 mm x 89 mm x 56 mm). The drawing shows the assembly at 88.90 mm [3.500 in] wide and 55.98 mm [2.204 in] high. The part lists a maximum P.C. board size of 159.5 mm long and 85 mm wide, and an IP54 rating.

Aluminum mounting brackets are attached to each end and punched with 0.31" (7.9 mm) diameter keyholes, so the enclosure can be hung or fixed easily. The assembly comes with the box, belly plate, flanges and cover screws; Hammond states that all assembly hardware is included. The recommended screw torque is 5 lbf/in, and replacement screws are part number 1455MSFL100BK (pack of 100).

Hammond can factory-modify these enclosures (milling, drilling, printing) and supplies STEP or IGES solid models. The black anodized version is 1455ZT1601BK, and the longer 220 mm length is 1455ZT2201. The 1455ZT1601 ships shrink-wrapped at 0.68 lbs (0.31 kg).
