Hammond 1455U1601BK 160 mm Black Anodized Enclosure, Aluminum End Panels

The 1455U1601BK is a black anodized extruded aluminum PC board enclosure from the 1455 Series, sized 6.3 in x 7.5 in x 2.6 in (160 mm x 191 mm x 66 mm). It is the shortest of the three 1455U lengths and offers a compact 160 mm body that still takes a board 186 mm wide, which makes it a fit for OEM engineers, electronics designers and integrators who need a rugged housing for circuit boards or for equipment interfacing.

The body is extruded aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06 in (1.5 mm) and is IP54 rated. PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into slots extruded into the enclosure body; the extrusion is designed for a 186 mm wide PC board, and the maximum board size is 160 mm long by 186.48 mm wide. This model also includes the removable sliding plate.

This version ships with metal end plates: two flat aluminum end panels, colour matched to the black anodized housing, plus two open black plastic bezels that frame them. The drawing shows each end panel at 1.63 mm (0.064 in) thick with countersunk screw holes (Ø0.165 in thru, Ø0.230 in x 82°). If you would rather have closed plastic end caps, the matching part is 1455U1602BK.

Every 1455U1601BK comes as a complete enclosure with four adhesive rubber feet and #6 x 3/8 in thread-rolling steel end panel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive. As a black version it includes black screws; recommended screw torque is 5 lbf-in. The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink-wrapped at 1.6 lbs (0.73 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), with solid models available in STEP or IGES.
