The 1455Q1602 is a clear anodized extruded aluminum PC board enclosure measuring 160 x 125 x 51.5 mm with plastic end panels and a removable sliding plate. It is built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and integrators who need to house PC boards or interface equipment in a compact, rugged metal case.
The body is extruded aluminum with a minimum thickness of 0.06 in (1.5 mm), made from 6063 alloy according to the drawing, and PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots extruded into the body. The extrusion is designed for a 120 mm wide PC board; the maximum board size is 159 mm long by 119.5 mm wide. The enclosure carries an IP54 rating.
Each 1455Q1602 ships with two closed end panels in black (bezels made with ABS), four adhesive rubber feet and #6 x 3/8 in thread-rolling steel end panel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive; clear anodized versions include natural screws. The closed bezels measure 129.00 x 55.13 mm and fully cap both ends of the extrusion. The version with aluminum end panels is 1455Q1601.
Recommended screw torque is 5 lbf-in. Replacement feet are 1421T2CL (pack of 24) and replacement screws are 1455MS100 (quantity 100). Hammond notes that enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing) and that solid models are available in STEP or IGES. The 1455Q1602 is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in shrink wrap and has a shipping weight of 0.91 lbs (0.41 kg).
