Hammond 1455P2201 220x125x30.5mm Clear Aluminum Enclosure, Metal Ends

At 220 mm long, the 1455P2201 is one of the longer clear anodized housings in the 1455 Series of extruded aluminum enclosures. It measures 8.66 in x 4.92 in x 1.22 in (220 mm x 125 mm x 31 mm) and is intended to house PC boards or equipment interfacing hardware for OEM designers, test-fixture builders and integrators who want a slim metal case rather than a moulded plastic box.

The body is extruded from 6063 aluminum with a minimum wall thickness of 0.06" (1.5 mm). PC boards mount horizontally by sliding into slots extruded into the enclosure body; the extrusion is designed for a 120 mm wide PC board, and this size accepts a board up to 219 mm long and 119.5 mm wide. A removable sliding plate is included, and the enclosure carries an IP54 rating.

Each 1455P2201 version ships as a complete enclosure with two flat aluminum end panels colour-matched to the clear housing, plus two open black plastic bezels. The bezels are polycarbonate. Assembly uses #6 x 3/8" thread rolling steel end panel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive; this clear version includes natural screws, with a recommended torque of 5 lbf-in. Four adhesive rubber feet are also included. Optional flanged end panels (1455PF) are shown on the part drawing.

Enclosures can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing and similar), and solid models of this enclosure are available in STEP or IGES for fitting boards and panels in CAD before ordering. The matching plastic-end version in the same finish is 1455P2202.
