Hammond 1455NS1601 160 mm Square Clear Enclosure, Metal End Panels

The 1455NS1601 is a clear anodized extruded aluminum enclosure from the 1455 Series with a square profile listed as 160 x 103 x 103 mm. It is built to house PC boards or for equipment interfacing, and its extrusion is designed for a 100 mm wide PC board, making it a fit for OEM engineers, test and control builders and anyone packaging a 100 mm board in a rugged metal case.

Boards mount horizontally by sliding into internal slots extruded into the enclosure body; this 1455NS model is listed among the enclosures without a sliding plate. The body is extruded aluminum with a minimum thickness of 0.06 in (1.5 mm). At 160 mm long it sits in the middle of the three 1455NS lengths (120, 160 and 220 mm), giving more room along the board than the 120 mm version.

The part lists a size of 6.3 in x 4.11 in x 4.11 in (160 mm x 104 mm x 104 mm), with an overall length of 160.00 ± 0.50 mm [6.299 ± 0.020 in] on the drawing and a 104.45 mm [4.112 in] square extrusion. The end plate measures 104.45 mm [4.112 in] with four 0.165 in through holes countersunk 0.230 in x 82.0°, and the open bezel measures 107.85 mm [4.246 in]. Shipping weight is 1.22 lbs (0.55 kg).

The enclosure ships with flat aluminum end panels, colour matched to the housing, with two open black plastic bezels, plus four adhesive rubber feet. The metal end panels fasten with #6 x 3/8 in thread rolling steel screws with a #4 flat head Phillips drive, supplied in natural to suit the clear anodize, at a recommended torque of 5 lbf-in. The enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing), and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.

1455NS1601 is RoHS and REACH compliant. It is also offered in black anodize as 1455NS1601BK, and with closed plastic bezels as 1455NS1602.
